What is Data Sharing?

Data Sharing is defined as a facility allowing one file or set of data to be accessed by several users.  For the purposes of Data Sharing Partnerships, this facility allows the sharing of information between Public Sector agencies.

Child Protection Messaging (CPM)


The eCare Framework supports the sharing of CP Information through CPM.  The purpose of CPM is to alert relevant professionals to CP activity and facilitate information sharing between departments and partner agencies.  CPM is an aid to prompt and share information and will enhance existing agency CP business processes.  There are 4 CP messages which will be triggered by the local authority social work system, the messages range from child under investigation to child on the CP register. 
 

Electronic Single Shared Assessment (eSSA)

The eCare framework supports the sharing of SSA’s which are part of Scottish Government’s strategy to improve the outcomes for people using community care services.  eSSA is the electronic sharing of the Grampian approved, SSA, which meets the national standards. Practitioners complete an SSA within their local system for example local authority CareFirst Social Work system and, when appropriate, share the completed SSA with involved
agencies

Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)


GIRFEC (Getting it Right for Every Child) is a Scottish Government initiative to ensure that all children and young people in Scotland are given the best start in life.  It promotes the health and development of children and above all their safety through parents, carers and health professionals working together.   The eCare Framework supports GIRFEC through the sharing of the multi-agency Child’s Plan and through the development of technology to support concern management. 
  

Adult Support and Protection (ASP)


The Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 (the Act) was passed by the Scottish Parliament in February 2007.  The Act introduces measures in relation to adults who are at risk from the many forms that harm can take, whether this is physical or psychological harm, neglect, sexual abuse or financial exploitation.
